Who We Are

Solid Rock was officially established in 2002.  We started out singing in our home church of Grassy Knob Baptist Church in Union Grove, NC.  After being asked to sing specials in a few neighboring churches, we decided to give ourselves a name.  We then became known as Solid Rock.  A few months later, we picked up our bass guitarist, Keith Hall, from Traphill, NC.  Keith is a member of Oak Level Baptist in Traphill. 

Renae Hutchens

Renae and Wes reside in East Bend, NC. They have a son, Ezra, who is 5 years old, and a daughter, Brelyn, who is 2 years old. Renae is a Paramedic for Yadkin County. She sings lead vocals and harmony. She is Carolyn’s daughter. Wes runs the sound system for the group.

Ezra Hutchens

Ezra is 5 years old and joins the group for a song or two. He is Wes and Renae's son. It won't be long before little sister, Brelyn, joins him.

Carolyn Wilhelm

Carolyn and Ren reside in Statesville, NC. She is Leon's sister and Renae's mother. Carolyn sings lead and alto. Carolyn handles all the bookings and finances, and says she is the “full time babysitter for Renae, Leon, Ronnie, and Keith”. She and Ren take care of Ezra and Brelyn when Renae and Wes are working. Ren is the driver and equipment manager.

Ronnie Moore

Ronnie and Sue reside in Union Grove, NC. Ronnie is a retired mail carrier. He works part time at a local feed store to occupy his time and enjoys their grandchildren the rest of the time. He is a long time family friend. He plays acoustic guitar, and sings lead and tenor. He can play any instrument with strings; too bad he doesn’t have eight arms. Then we would have a full band!

Leon Cass

Leon and Pam reside in Union Grove, NC. Leon is a bus driver and custodian for North Iredell Middle School, in Olin, NC. He sings bass. Pam is an interpreter for the deaf and signs some of the songs and helps out with Ezra and Brelyn during the services.

Keith Hall

Keith and Debbie reside in Traphill, NC. Keith works for Yadkin Valley Telephone in Jonesville, NC. He plays bass guitar and sings lead.
